Discover your unique Self

.....and lose Self Doubt

Why choose a Counselling Psychologist?

Choosing a Counselling Psychologist means you will receive specialised, evidence-based care that integrates scientific research with psychological practice. They are uniquely qualified to address complex, deep-rooted issues, trauma, and mental health conditions. They are highly trained, with extensive training in several types of therapy, which means that they can provide tailored, collaborative support to you. Key reasons to choose a Counselling Psychologist include:

  • Evidence-Based & Scientific Approach: They combine psychological research with therapy, ensuring methods are scientifically backed.
  • Expertise in Complex Issues: They are trained to handle complex psychological problems, severe anxiety, depression, and trauma.
  • Root-Cause Exploration: Beyond immediate symptoms, they explore underlying issues and past experiences to help you understand your behaviours and emotions.
  • Collaborative & Empowering: They work with you, rather than just on you, empowering you to make your own decisions and improve your well-being.
  • High-Level Training & Regulation: They hold advanced, specialised training in counselling psychology and are typically registered with professional bodies, such as the British Psychological Society, which ensures the highest of therapy standards.

Benefits of Therapy

At times we may feel low, worried or lost. We may try to resolve our difficulties by ourselves, but sometimes it feels too challenging to overcome this on our own.

Therapy is a unique relationship which enables us to understand the reasons why we may feel the way we do and, together, to work out ways to improve things.

Individualised Support

We know it can be hard to overcome problems and believe that every person is unique, one size does not fit all. We will ensure that your individual needs are at the centre of what we offer.

There are many types of therapy you may have heard about and it can all get quite confusing when trying to find the right help. I believe no single approach is best and choice of approach should be based on each person. After completing full training at post Masters level in the models below, I am able to integrate the most useful parts of each for the unique client I am working with.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Person Centred Therapy
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

A Safe Space

We would like you to feel comfortable every time you are at Openminds.

No issue is too small to bring to therapy if it feels important to you. No issue is too big that you should carry it alone. Sessions are always confidential, although there are a small number of exceptions to this which we always discuss.

Therapy at Openminds is a space to explore and work through difficulties with the support of an experienced, professional and well trained Counselling Psychologist.
